Abstract

Life is a combination of matter and energy, which can only exist in time and space. In humans, time is defined by biological rhythms, and space is represented by body structure. Current assumptions and references have raised awareness of these phenomena and this systematization aimed to investigate the dimensions of time, space and their alterations to bring them to clinical practice in rehabilitation. A documentary and bibliographic search was carried out, in which different databases and national and foreign indexed medical journals were reviewed, which allowed its development and exposed the regulation of biological rhythms, body structure, posture and concepts that acquire a particular dimension such as biotensegrity, fasciotensegrity and mechanotransduction. It is known that alterations in biological rhythms and biotensegrity are related to chronic non-communicable diseases (hypertension, diabetes, obesity, heart disease, pathological aging and cancer) in which synchronizing stimuli of biological rhythms can be activated from a rehabilitation program. The systematization allowed to conclude that chronostasis and biotensegrity, from an integrative approach, make it possible to improve the health and quality of life of the patient, through a map of activities and schedules included or integrated into the planned rehabilitation program and contributes even more to the integration of the patient and the family to recovery.
