Community rehabilitation protocol for post-COVID-19 patients at the Pedro del Toro Sad Polyclinic in Holguín, Cuba, 2021

Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) is a new, highly contagious coronavirus that causes COVID-19 disease. Cuba is not strange to the reality that humanity lives today, given the high virulence and lethality of 4.1% of this new CoV-2 and the death of many patients in the midst of a strong outbreak. After an initial epidemiological control, today the country faces the challenge of restoring quality of life to the survivors and minimizing the sequelae that it leaves according to their respiratory, cardiovascular, neurological, renal, nutritional, immunological and osteomyoarticular complications. Although much remains to be learned about this disease, there is interest in recovering or improving the health of post-COVID-19 patients who come to Pedro del Toro Sad health area Community Polyclinic, in Holguín, Cuba. In this sense, what has been published on the subject in the world literature has been followed to propose a post-COVID-19 rehabilitation protocol in the community, which initiates the path towards the reintegration of patients into social and work life based on the most up-to-date scientific evidence.
